In this week’s Juice I talk about how to love your body, flaws and all. We are always so critical when it comes to our bodies because we are constantly comparing ourselves to the perfect photo-shopped bodies in the media. It’s time to stop hating your body and start loving every inch! This is an important one so listen in.
Finding Your Body Confidence
Focus on Functionality
Be amazed and filled with wonder for all of the things your body does every single day. What special talents does your body showcase? Can you dance or ski, or do the most amazing downward dog? How amazing that your body can grow a baby, and climb a mountain and heal from sickness. When you consider the endless abilities and opportunities your strong and capable body provides it becomes much easier to love.
Accentuate Your Assets
When it hard to find a positive body image as a whole, take a few minutes and decide what parts of your body you do love. What assets are you proud of. What makes you beautiful and unique. Perhaps its the color and shape of your eyes. Do you always get complimented on your perfectly manicured nails? Maybe you are proud of the way your assets show up when you slide on your favorite pair of jeans. Whatever that looks like for you, identify it and celebrate it. And then do it again, and again and again.
Attitude of Gratitude
Be thankful. This world is wracked with pain and suffering and illness. You are healthy. You wake up every single day and take on the world. Your lungs open and welcome air, your heart is strong and pumps blood through your veins. You have arms to hug the ones you love and a voice to tell them how much they mean. You can see and feel and hear and touch the world around you and your amazing body carries you every single day to explore and conquer you life day after day.
In a society where we can find a million things to hate when we look in the mirror take some time to notice all of the ways you need to love and appreciate, nourish and worship the beautiful body you have.
